roup and one of the most mature in other words, our mom. Jongwoo, our most mathematical and organized member within our group, and Seongeon, our most knowledgeable person about child development, were both from Korea while Jiny, our Ugandan guide and youngest group member, was from Uganda, but her blood was 100% Korean. Sam, our most practical realistic member and worship leader, was from Maryland and Kay, our most calm and non-worried member was from Los Angeles. I, the most passionate and naive, was the only member from the California Bay Area. Moreover, I was the second youngest member of the group. Why did God choose me to become a leader despite my age? God had something in mind. Among us were approximately 12 Ugandans and 3 Rwandans. Each Ugandan was from a different school district within the Luwero district...or so we thought. On the contrary, 10 of the Ugandans were from the Kasese district (approximately 140 km away from Sanchee). Though we did not know it at that time....¡¦ We resumed the meeting and Jeannie decided to come to my aid. Apparently, she had the experience with children and decided to teach the Ugandans about the lesson plan. What I did not realize at that time was that everyone had a different responsibility. Apparently, one person did not have to do all the work. It was split among everybody. That was a relief, but that did not mean that I carried an unimportant task. Actually, I carried some of the heaviest burdens of all¡¦ The wake up call. John. Hey, it's good that we teach the Africans about Jesus and the curriculum, but these guys are adults and they know this stuff. I don't mean to force this into you, but it's already Thursday and we don't have anything prepared in terms of transportation, lodging, and food. We're leaving in a few days and I don't feel like we're prepared at all. Stated Sam bluntly. It was true. Our team did not prepare anything in terms of lodging, transportation, and food. In other words, we only had a curriculum and some music prepared. We were in trouble. First day of evangelism. John! Where is your team? When I say to have everyone meet at this time, I mean now! Get your team ready! yelled Missionary Kim, Oh man. Just when I was about to relax, I realized that Missionary Kim needed all the Missionaries from all countries to get together by approximately 10:00 a.m. Apparently, we needed to arrange the team members to do evangelism. If it were not for Missionary Kim's punishment, our team would not have been able to participate in the evangelism work together. Due to my group's tardiness, I was punished for that. Lesson learned. Approximately at 2:00 pm, we departed to do evangelism. We went forth in Christ's name to spread the gospel. From children to adults, we talked about the free gift from God Jesus Christ Salvation. Though some people may have heard of Jesus before, some were reborn while others refused to accept Christ in their hearts. |
