Day 20, Monday, July 19th Departure day #5. ¡°On the road again...for Jesus!¡±
Re-energized and ready to go!
With our new team, we were ready to get going and spread the gospel of Jesus around. Unfortunately, since I was one of the few team members departing early, I was not elected as team leader, but that was alright. I needed a break from so much responsibility.
We left shortly after lunch, within the Kigali guest house, to the Byumba district in Rwanda. Located approximately 60 kilometers off of Kigali (Rwanda's capital; also where we stayed at prior to our departure), we stayed at the guest house for temporary lodging. I only had two more days to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in Africa before I had to leave.
Day 21-22, Tuesday & Wednesday,
July 20th-21st Overwhelmed with compassion.
Dawn. The morning sun shone upon the land of Rwanda. Jesus loves Africa very much to have brought us here.
It was approximately 8:00 am when we departed to spread the Gospel of Christ to the schools. As usual, we continued with our Vacation Bible School curriculum, but we saw something unexpected. As we drove by one of the schools, there were children, shouting with joy, sprinting to keep up with us. I was touched by their eagerness to listen to the Gospel; I became overwhelmed with compassion more than before.
We began to teach the children and young teenagers about Jesus and His sacrifice for the world. Many souls have been saved that Tuesday and Wednesday
Even though 90% of Rwanda is Christians, many forget that Christ alone is the reason why we live. Some produce their own theologies and put Christ as another person on this planet. Others believe it's the will of God that gets them to heaven while others say ¡°I don't know.¡± Many who do know Christ are often misled and lose the faith while others put materialism first.
It was this reason why I became dedicated to fervently spread the Gospel of Christ and redirect those who are familiar with Christ. This experience in Africa did far more to strengthen my interpersonal vision for my future. It granted me a new vision to change the world especially my homeland.
Day 23, Thursday, July 22nd The final farewell.
"John, of all of us, you did the most work. I am so proud of you." Commented Jeannie.
It was true, I was used the most out of the group, but that was because God granted me lots of opportunities to work for His glory. Used as a vessel and servant for the Lord Jesus Christ, I had plenty of opportunities to share the message of Jesus Christ to hundreds and hundreds of Africans. It was a lifetime experience, but I know it was only the beginning of my journey.
"God is going to use you.¡±
"You're a very sincere person."¡±
"You get along with everybody.¡±
"You are an angel.¡±
"God i proud of you.¡±
All these comments were from people of my missionary organization
I give all this glory to God.
Today was the day I had to leave everyone. I remember them pleading to have me stay for the rest of the trip; I remember their love; I remember how close I was because through them I saw more of Christ. I saw a community of people fervently passionate to follow Jesus to the very end.
