President of the Democratic Republic of
Congo Joseph Kabila, Linda Thomas Greenfield from USA, the Vice President of South
Africa Cyril Ramaphosa will also be present in the meeting that will discuss on
the issues of Burundi
The prime ministers from five countries that
make up the East African Community (Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Burundi)
had also met in Tanzania on Tuesday last week before the Presidents met to
assess on how the situation in Burundi is. The Presidents today will assess the
report compiled by the prime ministers and in this case President Nkurunziza
will give further explanations on the issues going on in the country.
This is to remind the readers that the
issues in Burundi including protests and demonstrations of citizens began in
April and were caused by the President wanting to stand for the third term yet
the Burundians are not in for his third term
More than 20 people have died in these protests and others injured while many others were imprisoned
