MORE INFORMATION ABOUT WORLD MISSION FRONTIER IN AFRICA
INTRODUCTION
CLWMF
was founded in Rwanda in 1994, shortly after the tragedy of Genocide, by
Missionary Pyung Lyuk Kim (Paul Kim) who came to Rwanda as a journalist to
write about the tragedy that befall the
country where a million Tutsi were massacred in cold blood within a 100 days
During
that period the country was so much devastated, distorted, in a state of
despair, and there was with many orphans and widows who were vulnerable,
wounded people with broken heart in pessimistic situations. The country needed
help in all sectors in order to re-establish the country and renovate things that
were destroyed during the war including re=settling people and restoration of
peace.
It
is at this time during the deepest need of all Rwandans that missionary Kim
came, with a purpose of reporting about the country but actually the Lord had
planned to call him into his service through a hopeless country Rwanda by that
time. His heart was so much touched with the situation that people were going
through here, and he could no longer report only but also decided to play a
very big role in the restoration of hope to the hopeless and also help in
mending the broken hearts and also help in healing the broken hearted.
Missionary
Kim began with relief programs because people were in need of very many things;
Provision of food and clothes
Provision of medicine
Accommodation for the homeless
Helped children go back to school
Organizing national convention(Women¡¯s Youth
etc¡¦¡¦. they were purposely meant to bring people of different categories
together for unity and reconciliation
Encouraging Rwandan refugees in Congo and
Tanzania to come back in their country because the country was peaceful
CLWMF
opened up an office in Gikondo as well as an orphanage and supported very many
people in many ways. Very many nursery
schools were established in Gikondo Remera Kigoma and elsewhere in the country,
relief programs went on until 2000 when they found it necessary to register the
CLWMF as a nongovernmental organization.
