Request for special sponsorship to purchase land for Uganda UWMF
18 acres of land for the Mission Center in Uganda were prepared at a 49-year lease in 1996, and 27 years have already passed. Here, in 2013 (after relocating the kindergarten and elementary school that had been in operation since 1998), the UWMF Theological School and Graduate School were started.
UWMF has received accreditation from the Association of Christian Theological Education in African(ACTEA) to award diploma (2 years), bachelor of theology (4 years), and master of divinity (3 years) degrees, so students from neighboring countries also participate.
In the meantime, we have produced many graduates, and 169 of the graduates have been ordained as pastors, which became the basis for the establishment of a local denomination called CWMF (Church of World Mission Frontier) on February 10, 2023.
Currently, we have submitted an application for accreditation as a university (IT Department, Business Administration Department, Department of Theology) to the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE) of the Ministry of Education in Uganda and are in the process of university accreditation.
The area around the school, located 10 miles from the center of the capital city of Kampala, is being developed into a suburban housing complex, and construction of a highway from Entebbe Airport is beginning, with land prices goes up.
It is clear that when the lease period ends in 22 years, great confusion and difficulties will occur for the next generation of ministers, so we plan to purchase the land completely in the name of the university. As a result of discussions with the former owner's descendants, it was agreed that the title would be transferred if approximately 50% of the current market price was paid.
Payments were scheduled to be made in February, July, and December of 2024. We believe it is the right thing to do for the next generation to resolve this issue now to avoid a difficult situation 22 years from now. We need prayers and help. We would appreciate your cooperation so that we can pay the first payment in February 2024.
