Prayer Topics for the First Week

Urgent Prayer Topics

(1) Please pray for the D.R. Congo orphanages.
Goma and Bukavu, where the World Mission Frontier Orphanage is located, have been occupied by the M23 rebels, and the city functions have been paralyzed. Children are trapped in their homes and have difficulty purchasing food. Please continue to pray.
A new rebel force has emerged in the Beni and Ituri areas where our mission site is located, and Congo is facing even more difficulties.

* So that the food supply for children will not be interrupted.
* So that the staff caring for the children in the orphanages will not abandon the children but will faithfully care for them.
* So that the construction of the Bukavu and Uvira Katongo orphanages can continue.
* So that the country will be stabilized through the peace agreement between Congo, Rwanda, and the M23 rebels.

(2) The on-site inspection for the accreditation of the Rwandan University has been postponed to the end of April. The seminary that started in Kigali in 1998 had 400 students in 2019. In 2019, the Rwandan Ministry of Education ordered all seminaries in Rwanda to close in order to receive approval from the Ministry of Education.
We have been preparing to open a theological college and graduate school since 2020, but in 2022, the law was changed to not allow single-scholarship colleges, so we are preparing to open a comprehensive university. We have been experiencing many difficulties during this time.
After going through various procedures, we submitted an application for approval for 3 colleges and 7 departments in February 2025, and are waiting for an on-site inspection in April. For this inspection, we need to prepare books, computer labs, electronic whiteboards, office supplies, etc., and complete the construction of a new building.

* We plan to purchase items (computer monitors, electronic whiteboards) in April and transport them in containers. Please pray for the preparation of items, transportation, and customs clearance without any problems. *To pass the HEC inspection scheduled for the end of April, to be quickly submitted to the Rwandan State Council, and to receive State Council approval and presidential approval within 2025

*To prepare well for the opening in 2026
*To allow the organization of sponsorship associations supporting the University of Rwanda in the United States and Korea
*A scholarship of $1,200 per student per year is needed. To recruit scholarship sponsors

(3) Tanzania Isola SWMFCAT College has been approved and is preparing to open.
Isola College, which has been prepared since 2009, has been approved and is preparing to open at the end of August.

*The opening ceremony scheduled for August will be attended by high-ranking officials such as the minister, governor, and villagers.
To ensure a grand and graceful opening ceremony
*We need to prepare student and teacher dormitory facilities before the opening ceremony. We plan to remodel the 2nd chapel into a temporary dormitory. In order to secure the necessary expenses

*To educate students, we need a lot of equipment such as a library, computer lab, and agricultural training.

*To recruit excellent faculty (30 people) and students (120 people) to train young people with a biblical worldview

(4) Uganda UWMF University is in the final stages of accreditation.

Uganda UWMF Theological College and Graduate School has received accreditation from ACTEA, an accreditation agency for African theological schools, and has awarded diplomas to more than 400 graduates so far. (KBBA Pastoral Education Institute graduates: 450)

At the same time, we are in the process of accreditation for bachelor's degrees in theology, IT, and business from the Uganda Ministry of Education NCHE. In November 2024, NCHE temporarily suspended the operation of the theological college and graduate school, and is currently closed to wait for the Ministry of Education's approval process.

* To expedite the approval of the undergraduate program after the final on-site inspection by the Ugandan Ministry of Education NCHE.
* Once approved by the Ministry of Education, 400 students who received ACTEA degrees can have their academic credentials recognized by the Ministry of Education retroactively.
* To allow graduates of the graduate program to have their academic credentials recognized by the Ugandan Ministry of Education (with ACTEA approval, they can advance to doctoral programs at American seminaries).

* The permanent purchase of the UWMF University site in Uganda has been completed. For the future construction of the university and the establishment of facilities.

(5) Construction of the 2nd Victorian Hospital Ship is underway.
Following the 1st hospital ship on Lake Victoria, the 2nd ship is under construction. Construction, which had been suspended due to difficulties such as transportation disruption during the COVID pandemic, has resumed.

The welding of the ship has been completed and it has passed the X-ray inspection. The installation of two engines on the ship has been completed and the test run has also been successfully completed.

We must continue to purchase, transport, and install supplies.

* We are planning to import necessary equipment from Korea. Please pray for the smooth purchase of supplies and transportation to the site.
* Please pray for the finances needed to build the hospital ship.
* Please pray for the local technicians to be able to handle it well / for licensing issues.

(6) The missionary's finances are very difficult.

Since we are handling several big tasks at once, the payment of staff salaries is delayed.

* Please pray for the local salaries in March and April to be resolved.
* We are pursuing the permanent purchase of 18 acres of UWMF university land in Uganda and have appropriated part of the construction costs. Please pray for the land compensation from the Uganda Road Corporation to be processed quickly so that the scheduled construction can continue.
